As a guy, this is something I've come to believe about women and relationships. No matter how much love there is, I feel a girl should always have her own independence — her own ability to earn, to grow, to stand strong on her feet. Because only when she has that power does her decision to commit feel real. Then you know the relationship is based on love, not on pressure, dependence, or hidden needs.
I've seen how easily commitment or marriage can start looking like a "lifetime jail" in our society — like once you're in, you're locked forever. But I don't think that's what love is supposed to be. To me, real love is when there are no complaints, no demands, no expectations. It's just the freedom to choose each other, moment after moment, without fear. If tomorrow things change, perspectives shift, life turns upside down — then still having the courage to walk away or stay, both as free choices.
